We accept fiction up to 4000 words although works that long rarely catch our eye. We like a balance between complexity and simplicity—stories that demonstrate complexity of language and expertise of craft but balances that with simplicity of revelation and dynamic emotional movement. We love complex characters whose motivations are not always known to us. We love surprise endings that do not rely on gimmicks. Keep in mind our editors have different tastes but as long as your story is well-crafted, send it away. In addition to no previously published work, please wait two months after acceptance or rejection to submit again. We love you, but we need our "me" time, too.
